Report of Rear-Admiral Farragut, U. S. Navy, regarding captured members of the U. S. S. Tecumseh's crew. [No. 502.] U. S. FLAGSHIP HARTFORD, Mobile Bay, October 25, 1864.

SIR: In my dispatches reporting the action of the 5th of August I mentioned that four of the crew of the Tecumseh swam on shore at Fort Morgan and were taken prisoners by the rebels. By flag of truce up the bay I have ascertained the names of these men, viz, George C. Overton, J. Loughray, P. McGinnis, – Farrell, and that they were sent from Mobile on the 21st August to Americus, Ga.
Very respectfully, your obedient servant,
D. G. FARRAGUT, Rear-Admiral, Comdg. Western Gulf Blockading Squadron.
Hon. GIDEON WELLES, Secretary of the Navy, Washington.

BACHE & GERDES 1855 MAP https://www.floridamemory.com/items/show/323050
"I NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP!!!!"
Bache and Gerdes described the location of the astronomical observatory they set up for their 1855 St. Andrews Bay map as being latitude 30 degrees, 4 minutes, 23 seconds and longitude west from Greenwich 85 degrees, 38 minutes, 36 seconds.  I can't figure out how to located that point on an online map!(I believe this place to also be the Civil War era location of the U.S. Navy station on Hurricane Island which included dwellings, a wharf, a cemetery and a prison.)  https://www.floridamemory.com/items/show/323050
