Report of Rear-Admiral Farragut, U. S. Navy, regarding captured members of the U. S. S. Tecumseh's crew. [No. 502.] U. S. FLAGSHIP HARTFORD, Mobile Bay, October 25, 1864.

SIR: In my dispatches reporting the action of the 5th of August I mentioned that four of the crew of the Tecumseh swam on shore at Fort Morgan and were taken prisoners by the rebels. By flag of truce up the bay I have ascertained the names of these men, viz, George C. Overton, J. Loughray, P. McGinnis, – Farrell, and that they were sent from Mobile on the 21st August to Americus, Ga.
