Bache and Gerdes described the location of the astronomical observatory they set up for their 1855 St. Andrews Bay map as being latitude 30 degrees, 4 minutes, 23 seconds and longitude west from Greenwich 85 degrees, 38 minutes, 36 seconds. I can't figure out how to located that point on an online map!(I believe this place to also be the Civil War era location of the U.S. Navy station on Hurricane Island which included dwellings, a wharf, a cemetery and a prison.) https://www.floridamemory.com/items/show/323050
