This link cleared up my thinking about BLACK WARRIOR'S TOWN. It blames the confusion upon Davey Crockett who created it by placing BLACK WARRIOR'S TOWN near Tuscaloosa when it was actually a little north of Sumiton. Coffee's expedition that Crockett participated in burned the town above Sumiton in 1813. McKee and his Choctaw U.S. troops burned the one near the present-day Goodrich plant in 1814. I started out thinking Coffee and McKee had burned the same Black Warrior's Town in Tuscaloosa. Then I was led to believe that both military expeditions burned the Sumiton town and NOW I find out they burned two different Indian towns: Coffee burns Sumiton's in 1813 and McKee burns Tuscaloosa's in 1814. https://www.bhamwiki.com/w/Black_Warrior_Town
