FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 1963.  Remember that entire afternoon like it was YESTERDAY. 4th period science with Ms McGregor (rumors he was shot) 5th period social studies (Mrs. Elmore crying, unable to address the class) 6th period athletics.One kid was happy he got shot and that bothered me for years and years. After rolling it over in my head a million times, I think I can understand why Pat cheered when he heard the news that Kennedy had been shot dead. Pat's Daddy had worked on the Bay of Pigs Invasion for the Alabama Air National Guard. Went to the barber shop and they had the TV on. Walter Cronkite. Daddy closed the shop and stayed home on Monday so we could watch the funeral as a family.
