As some of you know, I have for some time attempted to put together a DAUPHIN ISLAND TRIVIA CONTEST based upon the names of Dauphin Island's streets. To that end I decided to annotate the
listing of Dauphin Island's streets that is found in S. Blake McNeely's book, THE DEVELOPMENT OF DAUPHIN ISLAND, ALABAMA. My goal is to copy the work of Dauphin Island's Committee of Nomenclature from McNeely's book and to add the streets' locations in relation to the four-way-stop at LeMoyne and Bienville , an Internet link for the street's namesake , a Find-A-Grave link for the namesake if it applies plus any comments that help you to understand the street name's significance to Dauphin Island's history. I've finished the "A"s and have posted them on the DAUPHIN ISLAND: AMERICA'S MOST HISTORIC GULF ISLAND blog. http://dauphinislandhistory.blogspot.com
