I was contacted by the historian for WWII's U.S Army Air Corps' 12th Air Force's 57th Bomb Wing concerning Dothan Tiger CLYDE REEVES who was killed in a plane crash on June 15, 1944, while serving in the same bomb wing as my Daddy, Earl Register. This is Clyde's Gargoyle picture with my Dad's notion "Fino, Sardinia." Clyde is buried in the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy, and the folks who run the cemetery are interested in showcasing the lives of these deceased young men such as Clyde. If you have any information on Clyde or Clyde's family, please contact me @ robertoreg@gmail.com
From the Dothan Eagle:
Reeves Decorated Before His Death.
Word has been received here that First Lieutenant Clyde D Reeves of Dothan, before his death in a plane crash June 15, in Sardinia, had received the distinguished unit ribbon after serving overseas for 13 months as squadron communications officer with a Bomb Group of B-24 Marauders [ed. note: THEY WERE B-26 MARAUDERS] which President Roosevelt twice cited for outstanding performance of duty in action.
