I've been thinking about D.I. tourism promotion and thought I'd share a few ideas with you.  D.I. should have a presence at many tourism spots in the area. The spotlight on ALL the island's resources should shine at places like THE ESTUARIUM, FT. GAINES, BELLINGRATH, U.S.S. ALABAMA, THE ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM AT SOUTH ALABAMA, MOBILE BOTANICAL GARDENS, MOBILE MUSEUM OF ART, FT. CONDE, MOBILE MUSEUM OF HISTORY, FT. MORGAN MUSEUM, GULFQUEST, GULF ISLANDS SEASHORE MUSEUM AT FT. PICKENS and the WENTWORTH MUSEUM IN PENSACOLA. As D.I. revamps it's strategy, a promotion under the auspices of SOUTH MOBILE TOURISM COUNCIL should do promotional events AT THE PREVIOULY MENTIONED VENUES that feature BEACH MUSIC, GRILLED OYSTERS, FRIED CRAB CLAWS, GARLIC CRAB CLAWS, WEST INDIES SALAD AND GUMBO. We can include some historical notes on each of these and how intimately this music and food is tied to D.I. Dauphin Island should find ways to push the resources of seven miles of the WEST END, PELICAN ISLAND AND LITTLE DAUPHIN ISLAND. These three "WILDERNESS AREAS" are unsurpassed and with a little litter control they could be PRISTINE. Just thought you'd be the best person to share this with. "LIVE THE LIFE YOU'D LOVE TO LIVE ON BEAUTIFUL DAUPHIN ISLAND."
